Souter Lighthouse

The nosy ghost of Souter Lighthouse in Tyne and Wear is
thought to have been a colliery worker who lived at the
lighthouse complex during the 1920s. Nowadays staff hear
banging doors and mysterious footsteps; objects are
rearranged, and a strong smell of tobacco lingers
(apparently he was an avid smoker). These strange
occurrences seem more common at times when the peace of
Souter is disturbed by building work or improvements. But
staff insist they feel no sense of fear from the nosy
ghost.
